I brani celebri vengono chiamati &#8220;standard&#8221; e la pratica del &#8220;tema con variazione&#8221; di antica memoria, in buona sostanza si rivela intramontabile. In questo progetto, Fabrizio Mocata ha pensato di andare a ritroso nel tempo prendendo alcune famose &#8220;arie&#8221; d&#8217;Opera che, per lo meno in Italia, possono essere considerate &#8220;canzoni popolari contemporanee del XIX secolo&#8221; e questo a mio parere conferisce ai brani pi\u00f9 valore intrinseco e una qualit\u00e0 che consente pi\u00f9 profonde esplorazioni nel tempo, struttura ed elaborazione armonica. Le tracce musicali del progetto rappresentano due diverse ma connesse aree del jazz. Da una parte abbiamo l&#8217;autentica interpretazione delle &#8220;canzoni popolari contemporanee del XIX secolo&#8221; e dall&#8217;altro abbiamo i brani che derivano direttamente dall&#8217;incontro della creativit\u00e0 e dell&#8217;interplay dei musicisti. Non \u00e8 un caso che uno di questi si chiami &#8220;Meeting of the Minds&#8221;. Se nel jazz la scelta del materiale musicale non necessariamente influenza la formazione del gruppo, questo gruppo stesso esprime del materiale musicale, producendo la maggior parte di ci\u00f2 che i musicisti scelgono di suonare. Fabrizio Mocata \u00e8 responsabile della scelta dei brani ed ha contribuito all&#8217;incisione con sorprendente versatilit\u00e0, radicato nella formazione classica unita a tutte le esperienze musicali che ha maturato in diversi stili e generi. Gianmarco Scaglia lascia il segno con il suo accompagnamento solido e mai troppo invadente e con forte senso melodico e armonico. Il grande virtuosismo batteristico, la creativit\u00e0 poliritmica e il sostegno sono i contributi del grande Paul Wertico che gi\u00e0 da tempo ha dimostrato di essere maestro di ogni situazione musicale.
